print layout view
I'm using Office 2000 with all the service packs and updates installed. I'm
using the normal.dot template to create a document. The template has not been modified or changed. When I open and view a document in the normal view, the document is displayed correctly on the screen. When I change to the print layout view, the document is displayed with grid lines similar to graph paper. The image grid lines looks like a background but does not print on the document. The image is only displayed in the print layout view. I've replaced the template with a known good template file but the problem remains. The other views, web layout and outline seem do display the document image correctly. How do I correct this problem? |

Click the Draw button at the left, select Grid, and uncheck the box for "Display gridlines on screen". This setting is stored in the registry, not in a template. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org |
