Problems resaving Word docs in Office 2007
[I'm using Windows Vista OS].
I'm having problems when i try to resave Word docs that i've edited. They're now on an external hard drive but were previosuly created on the work pc, before being transferred. (None of them are Read-Only!) File types given as "Microsoft Office Word 97 - 2003 Document". The problem is happening regularly, though not everytime... On attempting to sabe the edited doc, sometimes i get.. "Word cannot find the file" ..and one or two more dialogue boxes to tell me that there must be a problem with my hard drive. I am unable to save the doc after this [Save and Save As options aren't available to me - greyed out] and get another dialogue box to tell me that "Word has lost my data", so I end up losing the doc.. (i've since started copying content before attempting to save to prevent this) Or.. "Word cannot save this file because of a permission error" [I click OK] then.. "Would you like to try to resave?" [I have to rename because it's since turned into a temp file] I've tried seeing the patterns here but really i have no idea what's going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated ! |
