Default Why is Word getting the pitch wrong when printing sheets of label

When printing a 3x7 sheet of labels I give the pitch as 3.81cm and when the
sheet is printed the address does not come in the bottom few rows of labels.
When I measure the actual pitch on the printed paper the pitch is 3.6cm.
Does anyone know why this is happening and what to do to correct it?

Try printing the labels to a sheet of plain paper and check the pitch on
that. The problem is quite likely caused by the inability of the printer to
handle the label sheets.

Thanks very much for the suggestion. I tried it and the problem still exists
on plain paper. For some reason Word isn't telling the printer to move the
paper by the right amount. I can actually get the right result by setting
the pitch to 4.0cm and then it gets the pitch right at 3.8cm!! Has Microsoft
devalued the centimetre?
