Hello,

I have a question about MS Word 2003. I see a software package that says MS
Word 2003 Upgrade. It confuses me. What does the "Upgrade" mean exactly?

Is this a fully operational program or does there have to be a previous
program to be "upgraded"?

If I purchased this, can I just put it on my computer and start using it?
Is it a fully operational program as it is?

Currently I have an expired version of MS Word 2003 on my computer now. I
was just thinking about deleted it.

I do not see a way for me to delete my own post, so I will post what I have
found. It seems I have found the answer I was looking for. It is below:

"An upgrade version of software means that you area previous user of that
exact program, or you are a previous user of a qualifyingproduct that is
identified from the manufacturer. In order to install thispiece of software,
you will need to have the previous version or qualifyingproduct already
installed on your system, otherwise the software packagewill not load. The
only difference between the full version of the softwareand the upgrade
version of the software is the first lines of code - whereit will first look
for the previous version of that application or a qualifyingproduct
identified by the mfg. If it finds any of those items, then theentire full
version of the software package will load."

Even tho you found the answer, you may not have noticed that trial versions
do NOT count as a qualifying product.
