The attached phone list was done I think in WordPad. My XP Windows won't
open it correctly; any suggestions???

The .wdb extension is not a WordPad extension. Rather, it is a Works
database. You *may* be able to open this in Excel, but not in Word.

Thanks for the suggestion; I couldn't open it in Excel... I'm surprised
that XP doesn't have programs for opening other docs...

If you have available the version of Works that created it, you can use
Works to save it in a format that other applications can read (such as dbf).
You could try the Works forum for details of third party converters.
