Default printing form field background shading on hard copies

Word 2003

I am working with a Word Form and would like to know if there a process by
which the gray shaded background areas of the form fields (which are visible
on screen) can actually be set to print/appear on a hard copy printout.

In reviewing the postings in this regard, it seems as though everyone else
is interested in the gray shading being prevented from printing. I, however,
would like to see them on the actual printed page.

My appreciation in advance and my apologies if I have inadvertently posted
this question in duplicate.

Click Options on the Tools menu. On the Print tab, select the "Background
colors and images" check box.

Default printing form field background shading on hard copies

Hello Stefan. As always, thank you so much for your quick response to my
below query. However, I visited the menu indicated in your response and the
"Background Colors and Images" check box was indeed "ticked".

I then thought that it might be the drivers for any given printer, so I
attempted printing the form to more than one, all with the same results. No
field background shading appears on the hard copy printout.

Any other ideas? :-)

Thanks - Rod

Sorry, my mistake. Apparently, the field shading doesn't print, even if it
shows in Print Preview.

What you can do is apply shading to the fields manually, via Format |
Borders and Shading, Shading tab.

Hello Stefan. Thanks so much, not only for sharing with me that it cannot be
done -but additionally for supplying the "work around".

I appreciate it - Rod
