Default Equation 3.0 - Text Spacing

I'm inserting some equations using MS Equation. Several of them are text
formulas, and I'm using the text style. However, it seems to have problems
figuring out spacing for some words (I'm particularly having trouble with
"well" - there is an extra space between the two l's). Is there anything I
can do to adjust this spacing or am I stuck with it?

Default Equation 3.0 - Text Spacing

Finally figured this out...I changed the problem word back to Math style, and
it looked much better. Go figure!!
