I am trying to put the header on the first page. When i do i can't see it. If
i click on print preview it shows up. I need to be able to see it on the
first page. What am i doing wrong? I have used headers and footers everyday
and for some reason it won't show up. The page numbers is even grayed out i
can't insert that either.

I think you are in Online Layout View--since web pages do not really have
pages, they do not have headers or footers either, nor page numbers. Switch
to View | Page Layout.
