Default file way too big

I'm not sure if this is the table or something else, but - here's the
issue. I have a 2 page word table that is over a meg. If I copy the
table and text to a new word document and save that, the document
saves at about 29 K. I opened both the files in notepad and see a ton
of extra garbage at the end of the original document. I'm thinking
that there is some hidden formatting at the end of the original
document, but i have no idea on how to see or fix it... i would
appreciate any suggestions.

thanks for any ideas, Stu
