Default Windows XP Word - will load in safe mode only

I have already followed your other links / answers, is windows XP different,
the answers you give don't follow for XP?

When opening word, error msg states there is an error and do i want to load
changes to the normal document template, dialog box appears to send error
report to microsoft and word then loads in safe mode.

"It" works for all versions of Word/Windows. Have you actually tried all the
troubleshooting steps described?
