Set header and footer as non printing
Hi,
I'm trying to create a template for use on our office headed paper. I want to display the header and footer on the screen (to help with laying out), but I don't want these to print. Is there any way I can do this? Many thanks George |

No. The best you can do is set the header and footer margins to leave the
requisite space. Or throw out the pre-printed stationery and print everything as you go. "George" wrote in message ... Hi, I'm trying to create a template for use on our office headed paper. Yes, there is: say you position a table cell in the header, with an exact line height, put a picture of your logo etc. in there, inline, and format it as "hidden" (Format | Font). Then make sure that Tools | Options | View is set to display hidden text, but | Print is set not to print it. I usually only do that for templates where the users might a) not have access to the office printer (at home etc.), or when they might create documents to be printed on paper as well as into a PDF (then with "hidden" displayed _and_ printed). Robert,
How do we then ensure that when users open the document, they have the settings in the document? ie open the document with the view set to display hidden text, but not print hidden text. Can it have these options for the said document only, and not all docs? I am using office 2007 -PJ "Robert M.
