Default formatting pictures

When I format a photo in Word the photo is shown in pts not inches. I swear
it used to be in inches, what gives??

Would help if you mentioned which version of Word...

Has the setting for "Measurement units" changed in Tools/Options/General?

FWIW, you can still type "in" after the value to specify inches.
