Default Export table to excel or access?

I have been given an 18 page word doc which is a table of names, address etc
and someone thinks this is a database. Before I laugh in their face, is
there some way I can convert this to excel, access, csv or some other format
where it can be used properly?

I used word-export to text, but the result is just a jumble.

Thanks for your help.

Well, it depends what you want to use the "database" for. A table can be a
perfectly good mail merge data source in Word, provided each record is a row
and each field is a cell.

I assume you tried Table | Convert | Table to Text, separating with commas?

I just tried this and it seemed to work OK. Copy the table, and open Excel,
and do a simple paste. I then saved as a csv and was able to import into
Access. Hope it works for you.
