How do you stop a protected document being copied?
I am trying to protect a Word 2003 document. I can protect the document by
using the Security Option (Read Only) and Protect the document on the Tools Menu. However, when you open the file you can still copy it somewhere else by using Ctrl C and Ctrl V. This means you can create the exact same document and amend it as you like. Does anybody know how to sort this out. |

How do you stop a protected document being copied?
There is no way to stop a document from being copied. If it can be seen, it
can be copied in one way or another. If you can print it, you can photocopy it or OCR it. At worst, you can take a picture of the screen and retype it. You can make it more inconvenient by converting the document to PDF with protection, but you can't stop it. -- Suzanne S.
