Opening all documents in NORMAL view.
Any document opens in the view in which it was saved. To force them to open

As for the macro, you'll need an autonew and an autoopen macro in normal.dot
each containing (at least) the line ActiveWindow.View.Type = wdNormalView http://www.gmayor.com/installing_macro.htm -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Suzanne S.
