Odd Paragraph Spacing Issue
Hi,
I'm consulting at a legal firm and one of the legal assistants is having an odd paragraph spacing problem since they upgraded from Office 97 to 2003. They had two styles defined, style one with Spacing After set to 12 pt. and style 2 with Spacing Before set to 12 pt. These two styles are used one after the other, resulting in 24 pt. of spacing between the two paragraphs (12 after plus 12 before). When she opens a document using these styles in Office 2003, the spacing between the two paragraphs is reduced to 12 pt. We checked other documents using the same style sheet and the same thing happened. When you manually change the first paragraph to 24 pt after and the second paragraph to 0 pt before, you get the proper 24 pt. spacing. Very strange. I duplicated the same behavior in a new document in Word 2003: 12 pt after + 12 pt before = 12 pt spacing VS. 24 pt after + 0 pt before = 24 pt. spacing. Any ideas? This firm has hundreds of documents using this style sheet and they are not legally acceptable without the proper spacing. Thanks very much, Bob Voss |
