Default Is it possible to create labels from a word doc list?

I want to do a Mail Merge and make filing labels - Avery 5866. My data
source is a list in a word document. I have tried several ways with no
success. I was able to do a Mail Merge when I made address labels.

Is the list in the form of a table with the first row of the able containing
the field names? If not, select the list and use the Convert to Table
option on the Tables menu to convert it into a table, inserting a row at the
top into which you type the field names if necessary.

Word seems happiest with tables as data files (though it can use a variety
of data formats). Select your list and use table convert text to table. If
the first row is not your fieldname(s) then add a first row and make it so.
You can then use this document as a label merge data file.

THANKS MUCH! Between you and Graham I successfully made the table, did the
mail merge, and VOILA - there were my labels.

Thanks Graham. I read alot of your answers to other posts, and find them
very helpful. That is why I knew if I posted my problem, it would be solved.
This way of doing labels is a snap, instead of typing each name over into a
label doc. I had never converted text to a table before.
