Recovering Date a Document Was Created
When I inserted a date in my Word 2003 document, I put a check mark in
"Update automatically." Now I need to know when the document was created. Is that information available somewhere in the document, and can I recover that creation date? |

Depending on your version of Windows, there will be a date created field somewhere there. |

Press Alt+F9 to display the field code. Edit the DATE field to read

Recovering Date a Document Was Created
AFAIK, it's just an ordinary Web page. It does include shared borders, but
you should be able to copy the main portion of the text and paste it into a Word doc. -- Suzanne S. Recovering Date a Document Was Created
Recent versions of Word can be sticky about pasting images. In my
experience, Word 2003 is just slow (it doesn't actually refuse for me, as some users experience). And if a simple paste doesn't work, it should be possible to use Paste Special. But if I use File | Save As and choose either .mht (Web Archive, single file) or .htm (Webpage, complete) in Internet Explorer, I get exactly what I would expect in Word. I do have "Confirm conversion at open" enabled, so I get a dialog asking me to confirm that the file is a Web page, but it then opens with all content present and accounted for. -- Suzanne S. Either after a very long delay I would get "error saving page" and IE would abort, or worse, IE saved something, but large sections of blank were in it! So I changed to Opera and have not had another problem until now with every website page I save. This is the FIRST website that Opera has not been able to save as a *.mht single archive. It does save as .htm with a "files" folder, but then Opera doesn't open that. I guess I could save as .txt, and keep the images in the file folder for reference and 'put it all together' myself.. The clue something was wrong appeared in the 'suggested' title for saving the web page. Usually, the suggested title ends with .mht, but not this time. There was no extension for it. I did get a confirmation from the Opera forum that someone there trying to answer my question had saved it as .mht and had no problem, so you got me what's going on. Change of subject: Any idea as to how to do smooth scrolling on the horizontal bar? |

Opera won't open that .htm file, but IE6 opened very nicely! Beats me what's going on. If I find out, will let you know. I think I'll simply view the website, Print Screen, piece it altogether uring Paint, and then save that as a .jpg using Irfan, that'll work. just takes some time. |
