Default Word Document Format Question

Hi there,

I need to import text from .doc files when Office is not installed on the
computer where my process is running. I heard it is possible to apply for a
licence or something at Microsoft to be able to use this format, is that
true? how do I apply?

Thanks in advance,
-IP

You can download a Word viewer from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en.
This allows you to view and print (but not edit) any Word document up to
Word 2003.
