pics(jPeg) but is working from home using works
cant open pics,what can do to open them in works,or can i get word download

No, you cannot legally download Word for free other than a trial version.
And Word doesn't open .jpg files.

Windows Picture and Fax Viewer will open them, assuming they really are .jpg
files.

Neither Works nor Word will 'open' jpeg format files (or any other graphics
files) but you should be able to *insert* jpeg files into both of them.
If your friend cannot insert graphics in Works documents then I suggest
he/she asks in a Works forum.
