Numbered list problems in Word 2003 or 2000
When there are multiple numbered lists in Word 2003 or 2000, they can get
messed up. Some of the strange behavior that happens sporadically is: 1. They want to continune the previous list, even it there are several non-numbered paragraphs between them. 2. The option to continue previous list or start a new one sometimes is disabled. 3. Tabbing in the third level brings the line 2 levels to the left, rather than one level to the right. Most of the problems can be overcome eventually, but I have been unable to fix #3. I have been having these types of problems on several computers over the past few years. There are no error messages; it just doesn't work right. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. Numbered list problems in Word 2003 or 2000
Hi ?B?U2NvdHQgTmF0aW9u?=,
You might want to read the information at these two locations, to better understand how numbering is meant to work. FWIW, the basics underlying the numbering aren't going to change for Word 2007 (although the interface is a bit different to try and mitigate the problems).
