Default Font errors

I have set up document templates in Times New Roman 12 point. When the
templates are pulled up for use, the headings change to Courier New, causing
us to have to reformat the document. Is this something that should be
changed in the normal.dot, or is there an easier way to keep Word from
pulling in Courier New into my templates? If it needs to be changed in the
normal.dot, can you give instructions on how to do this? Any help you can
give would be appreciated.

How did you change the default font for the template? Note that you should
change its paragraph styles. Since Normal is the based-on (or parent) style
for most other styles in Word, it is often sufficient to change that style.
If you want more detailed instructions, tell me your version of Word.
