i have a work document with different text fields. i'm looking for a shortcut for :

I have couple text fields throughout the document to type in the same name and date and other same stuff. instead of typing the same name and same date in the text fields everytime, is there a shortcut? not sure if macros will work?

You don't need a macro.

Method 1: enter the text as one or more document properties (using File
Properties) -- you can use the standard properties on the Summary tab or
create your own on the Custom tab. Then display the info in the document
using DocProperty fields.

Method 2: insert bookmarks for the locations in the document where you first
type the info. Then use Ref fields elsewhere to re-display the bookmark
contents.

Method 1 is more reliable; bookmarks can get deleted or scrambled.
