Default how to sort names in a list in Word

I'd like to know how to sort a list of names by the LAST name of the entries.
The names are NOT in table format, only a typed list. Thanks.

If the last name is first in each paragraph, just select the text and Table
| Sort. If the last name is always the second name, sort on Word 2. If there
are some middle names/initials or titles involved, you can still use Word 2,
but you have to first go through and replace spaces between titles and first
names and/or between first and middle names with nonbreaking spaces
(Ctrl+Shift+Spacebar).
