Page numbers on the outside of pages
I need to print page numbers on the outside footer of each page for a bound
document. How do I accomplish that? Thanks in advance to all who respond. |

Page numbers on the outside of pages
In versions of Word before 2007, go to File Page Setup Layout and check
the box for "Different odd and even". You must have at least two pages in your document for the next step, so insert a temporary page break (Ctrl+Enter) at the end of page 1 if necessary. Open the footer area on an odd page (e.g., page 1), press the Tab key twice to move to the right margin, and click the # button on the Header/Footer toolbar. Then click the Next button on the Header/Footer toolbar to go to the even page footer, and with the cursor at the left margin, click the # button. Word 2007 has a Header/Footer button in the Insert ribbon, and you can choose the proper footer from the gallery that button opens. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
