Default How to make the computer open all docs with Word instead of Works?

Our HP came loaded with Vista and Microsoft Works but we have added WORD.
However, to open a document sent to us, we have to save it and then open it
in Word. Otherwise, it tries to open it with Works and gives us errors. How
can we set the computer to automatically, as a default, open documents with
Word?

You need to set your file association to Word.
