How do I select a vert block (alt-drag) without invoking research
In Word 2003 I want to select a vertical block, (using alt and drag with
mouse) as I have in previous versions of Word, but it usually, when I release the mouse button, my selection is released, and the research pane appears. How do I get around this double use of alt and click? |

How do I select a vert block (alt-drag) without invoking research
Hi DaleZ
I think it's all in the niceties of the technique. If I do this, it works OK: - Hold down Alt - Click-and-drag (after you click, don't let go of the button before you move the mouse!) - Let go of the mouse - Let go of the Alt. Hope this helps.
