Default won't line up auto indentations: 1.) then line up writing with a.

In Misft word- it looks like this
1.) I have 18 months after filing a claim - Then next line does not align
2.) The funding to meet my needs (how do I fix it to
align?)

You don't say anything about how you are trying to produce your results.
Which version of Word are you using? What Word fields are you using?

Given the information you have provided I can only suggest that you should
try to avoid using Word's automatic formatting features and create and apply
the paragraph formatting you need.
