Default Word 2003 Table cell formula

i need a formula that will show me 10% of a given amount. I have a table
that has a price of an item. the cell next to it will show the value of 10%
of this price. I have tried every formula i can think of but get the wrong
answer or a syntax error every time

If you have 100 in cell A1, the formula { = A1/10 } in the cell where you
want the 10% to be shown will cause 10 to be displayed.
