Default Text in Document1, Not Blank Page

When Microsoft Word is first opened, it has text on the page, instead of a
blank page. Each time Word is first opened, it has the same text. Even when
the text is saved with a document name and closed, then closing the Word
program, the next time Word is opened the same text appears. This is very
frustrating. HELP!
