wrong symbol appears
This is in Word 2003(11.5604.5606).
When the user clicks on Insert, symbol and selects a right arrow in "Recently used symbols" a lower case "a" with a dot on top comes up instead of a right arrow. The character code is 224. To the left of the character code the screen reads WP Iconic SymbolsA:00E0. The From: box is Symbol (decimal). I noticed in the Microsoft support database that Article ID#140174 discusses this problem and refers to the symbole.fon file in the Windows/font folder. This solution is not for Word 2003. In Word 2003 is there a file that serves the same purpose as symbole.fon? Does Word 2003 How can I make the correct symbol appear in the document? |

you have the WP Iconic Symbols font installed? If not, you will not get a symbol from that font regardless of what you do. -- Suzanne S.
