Default Center doesn't actually center??

I am working in Word 2000...

I am trying to center something in landscape. But it doesn't center, it's
off-center for some reason. My left and right margins are 1-inch. I can't
figure out why it won't actually CENTER.

Thoughts?

Is it a text? check format\paragraph set left and right Indentation to
Zero.

This has something to do with my other post regarding columns. Because, when
I went into Format, columns, selected One (though it was already at one), and
then ok, my text was centered appropriately.

If I fix the other issue of Word opening with 2 columns, should that fix
this problem as well?
