Default Headers/Footers "same as previous" does not always work like it sh

Hello,

I have created a template that involves headers and footers...odd and even
pages...I have the information in the headers linked...so that when a change
is made it changes all the connected headers...however this does not always
work for some reason...the information reads correctly...i.e. page set up
information is the same...but the link is not working...

also sometimes when you insert a page break word produces an older template
that once existed in this document...why is that?

Note that the linking is separate for each type of header (and
footer). If you are saying that you checked the "Different odd and
even" option in File | Page Setup, Layout tab, each of your Word
sections has two different headers that must be linked to the
corresponding headers of the previous section. For more on headers and
footers, see http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/HeaderFooter.htm.

I don't understand this. What, exactly, changes as you insert the page
break?
