Default Printing envelopes from large letter file different text in letter

I type at home and store multiple letters (each letter is to a different
receipent and each letter contains different text) in one file. Is there a
way to print envelopes for these letters continuously or a batch print? I
cannot store these addresses in a data file because the receipents are
rarely, if ever, the same.

Your first mistake is putting all those letters in one file. It would
be advisable to make a separate file for each letter, and to organize
the files by storing them in separate folders.

If you haven't applied a unique style to the addresses, do it now so
that you can automate finding them and extracting them into another
file.

Your last statement is incorrect -- you can store the addresses in a
data file, specifically a mail merge source file, regardless of
whether you intend to use them once or a hundred times. The mail merge
mechanism is the one to use to print multiple envelopes, but you must
have a source file in order to use it. When you merge, you can specify
which addresses to use.

Please read this article:
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/MailMe...DataSource.htm
Then post in the Programming newsgroup for help in making a macro that
will copy the addresses (formatted with a specific style) to a mail
merge source. It will be important to state what version of Word
you're using, and what the addresses look like (e.g., whether they
differ in number of lines, whether the names are FirstName-LastName or
some other order, and anything else that isn't uniform).
