Remove text boxes
Word 2003
I have a file with dozens of textboxes (converted to Word from pdf by Omnipage). The boxes are "linear", i.e. they span the width of the page, one after another. They are not sprinkled around. I know I can convert each box to a frame, then delete the frame, but this is tedious. I know also that removing text boxes can be tricky, since positioning the contents can be impossible. Even so... Is there a way to remove the text boxes, without fussing with each one? |

Remove text boxes
The definitely *are* text boxes and not frames already? If they're frames, a
simple Ctrl+A, Ctrl+Q will remove them. -- Suzanne S. Remove text boxes
Thanks!
The file contains section breaks and text boxes, no frames. Somehow, I managed to select the boxes in the first two pages, and CTRL-Q removed them. But I couldn't figure out how to select the other three pages. I reverted the file, and now I cannot select any boxes. Incidentally, when I view in Normal, only the section breaks appear. To see the text boxes, I have to view in Print Layout. Recall that I mentioned this file was created by Omnipage, not by Word, so there's no telling what's in it. Although, I'm working on versions saved by Word. (I'm doing the workaround: make the text boxes frames one by one -- there are only 3 more pages to go!) "Suzanne S. Remove text boxes
The only reason I asked was that some OCR programs I think do use frames.
But if you don't see them in Normal view, then they definitely are text boxes. Here's one thing that will help, however. Convert one text box to a frame, then select the next (immediately) and press F4 (Repeat). If that works, then just keep selecting text boxes and pressing F4 till they're all done. -- Suzanne S.
