Default how do i force text to stay together at the end of a line?

I can vaguely remember that there is a way to force certain words or spaces
to stay together, mainly at the end of a line so that words are not split up
- especially words that are joined with a hyphen - but cannot remember how to
do it.

Cntl-Shift-Space creates a non-breaking space that will keep two words
together. Cntl-Shift-Hyphen creates a non-breaking hyphen.
Format-Paragraph-Line and Page Breaks-Keep Lines Together will keep a whole
paragraph from breaking across two pages.

I hope this helps.
