TOC for one section only
I want to create a TOC for each section, separately. It will be positioned
at the beginning of each section. I know how insert a regular TOC, but I'm not sure how to do this for just one section. Do I highlight the section first? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks. |

Investigate the RD (Reference Document) field. This lets you create your ToC
referencing a document and page range. Usually, it is used to create a ToC from a separate document, but you can use it to limit the page range too letting you have more than one ToC in a document. -- Terry Farrell - Word MVP http://word.mvps.org/ "Cowtoon" wrote in message ... :I want to create a TOC for each section, separately. Terry ... I'm close, but it's not quite happening.
I'm not entirely sure how to reference a section over more than one section. I add the RD \f (the f switch tells it that the content is in the same file). I added { SECTION } inside and outside of the TOC field, but it's not working. It keeps giving me an error saying it cannot find the file on page 1. Can you share a little more help. As a little more info. I had a page that preceeds the section that I want to create the TOC portion for, so I don't want to create the TOC for the current section ... it'll be for the next section (and in some cases ... will be for 3 sections that follow). Does that help you. Thanks for you help. Diana "TF" wrote: Investigate the RD (Reference Document) field. This lets you create your ToC referencing a document and page range. Disregard what Terry told you, which is intended for creating TOCs across
several documents. What you want is a TOC for a bookmark. See "Creating a partial table of contents" in http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/TOCSwitches.htm -- Suzanne S.
