not all page numbers show up in pdf file
Using 2003 I am printing my word file to a pdf file using Adobe pdf print
driver. My word file contains headers and footers. The header contains date flush left, title centered and page number flush right (opposite on even pages). The files I am using worked fine in January of this year when I last used them. However, I am now updating them again and when I print to a pdf file my resulting pdf file randomly drops the page numbers from various pages throughout the file (but will print the balance of the header okay and the footer okay). It sometimes has no page number at all, on another page just the last two digits of the page number will be there, and on the others it will contain the whole page number. I can print the bad pages individually to a pdf file and the page number will show up. It also shows up if I print it directly to a printer. Any ideas what is causing this? |

Does it do so if you use the Acrobat add-in for Word to create the PDFs,
rather than 'printing' to the PDF driver? -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org KarenSword wrote: Using 2003 I am printing my word file to a pdf file using Adobe pdf print driver. I am not sure what "acrobat add-in for Word" is, but you got me thinking and
I tried printing using a generic postscript driver to a ".prn" then I converted that to a pdf and all my page numbers then appeared. If you can enlighten me on the "add-in" and where to find it, that may also be helpful. Thank you for your help. If you have the full version of Acrobat, it comes with add-ins for Office. I
believe versions 5 and later are compatible with Office 2003, provided they are updated with the latest updates for those versions. The add-in provides extra functionality.- http://www.gmayor.com/lose_that_adob...at_toolbar.htm covers the basics. If you have a version that predates Office 2003, the add-in template may be in the wrong startup folder. If you have an older version of Acrobat or you acquired the driver via some different software, then you *may* have better results with a third party PDF driver such as the freeware version of PrimoPDF. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org KarenSword wrote: I am not sure what "acrobat add-in for Word" is, but you got me thinking and I tried printing using a generic postscript driver to a ".prn" then I converted that to a pdf and all my page numbers then appeared. Thank you for all your help. I do have the full version of Acrobat. I am
currently using Acrobat 9 Pro and all my updates are current. I will see if any add-ins are not installed and check that end out.
