Default numbering and tab

usually when you having autonumbering on and you go from 1 to 2 and you hit
the tab button it would take the number 2 and convert to an a. I can't seem
to find this feature and turn in on.

Default numbering and tab

In recent versions of Word, the option is found on the AutoFormat As You
Type tab of the AutoCorrect dialog box, and it reads, "Set left and first
indent with tabs and backspaces."

Here's how to open the dialog box:

- Click the Office button, and then click Word Options. In the Proofing
category, click AutoCorrect Options. (Word 2007)

- Click Tools | AutoCorrect Options. (Word 2003)
