Default Currency format - Excel to Word Merge

How do I format my form letter so that the cents only show if there are
cents? ie "$5,459.50" is ok but "$5,000.00" should be simply "$5,000".
I assume I need to use an "If" switch??

Try putting your result in a formula field.

{ =({MergeField Whatever})}
