Default Saving Auto-Text entries

In Word 2000 I had dozens of self-created auto-text entries on which I relied
heavily. In Word 2003, I can create these (and view them under the "normal"
category that becomes available as soon as you create an entry), and I can
use them in all active documents but they DIE each time that I exit Word!!!

I tried (under tools, options, save) opting for Word to prompt me to save
changes to normal.dot, thinking that this might help. Word does not prompt
me, however.

Autotext is saved in templates, in normal.dot by default. If you are not
being prompted after you have checked the box for such a prompt, they are
not being saved in normal.dot.

The category to which an AT entry is assigned depends on the style of the
text in the original entry, not on the template.

Any chance you are saving them to a different template?
