Default Can I recover a Word file that I failed to save?

I thought that I was closing another file and accidentally closed the one I
was working on and lost a bunch of work. Can I dig it up somewhere? somehow?

c'mon ... you know the answer ... next time you'll hit Save every few
minutes.

Depends. Most likely not.

However, if you have the 'auto-save' future turned on, Word saves your
modified file to a temporary file on the hard drive every few minutes.
If you close your document normally this file gets deleted. However,
undelete programs such as "Active Undelete" and "R-Studio" might be
able to retrieve the deleted file.

If you didn't save it, there's nothing to retrieve.
