If this was a result of pressing the system reset button or some kind of crash, there may still be some temporary files on the disk with some or most of the text. Use the search button in Windows Explorer (or My Computer, depending on the Windows version) to look for files containing some phrase that you know was in the document. If Word was shut down in normal fashion, either manually or by choosing Restart from the Start menu, then all the temporary files were probably deleted at that time and you probably won't find anything. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. |
