for the last few months whenever I start a new word document the size 12 font
is very small. It also prints small. To get it to display and print at the
old size I have to use size 16. It also applies to all the other font sizes.

I am using office XP and windows XP Home.

Any ideas why this might be.

In a paragraph in Normal style, go to Format | Font and see if Subscript or
Superscript is checked. If it is, uncheck it, then click Default... and say
yes.
