For some reason when I try to insert a bullet Word will not let me TAB over
on the second bullet level - instead, when I push return for a new bullet and
then push tabe to indent the bullet - the bullet stays at the first level and
the cursor tabs over. Why is it doing this? It is doing this in any file
and when I open a blank document.

For Word 2000 and earlier: Tools Options Edit tab: "Tabs and
backspace
set left indent."

For Word 2002 and later: Tools AutoCorrect AutoFormat As You Type
tab:
"Set first and left indent with tabs and backspaces."
