Default Word 2003 and Windows 7

I just got a new PC with Windows 7. I installed my Word 2003 and tried to
copy my normal.dot from my old PC (running XP) to the new one and it won't
work. I get an error message saying "Word cannot open the existing
(normal)". I've always been able to just copy and paste my normal.dot from
one PC to the next and it has always worked fine. Any ideas on how I can
make this work?

Thanks!

Default Word 2003 and Windows 7

I copied my normal.dotm to my new Windows 7 laptop with no difficulty.
Has it been verified that Word2003 is completely happy in Windows 7 ?

I assume you had Word closed when you attempted the copy. What were you
trying to copy to?
