Default graph paper look in Word document how to get rid of this

I am seeing what looks like graph paper behind my work in a Word document.
Does anyone know how to remove this view so that all I see is a plain white
document?
Thanks in advance for help on this.

Click on draw menu on thw drawing toolbar choose grid from the flyout menu
