Default drop caps isn't working

following directions. placing cursor at beggining of paragraph, highlighting
word, highlighting paragraph, yet it still puts drop cap in the wrong place.

Hi Florentine

In Word 2003, all I have to do is click anywhere within the paragraph. Then,
Format Drop Cap. Click on Dropped and click OK.

If that's not working for you, what version of Word do you have?
