When using Word, upon opening a document the screen goes blank and I must
reboot the computer. I am using the following hardwa ABIT av8
motherboard; ATI Radeon 9600 xt video card; 1 gig ram; AMD 64 3200 cpu; XP
Home and Office 2003. I have made sure that all the BIOS, Chipset, Drivers
for all hardware and software are up to date and I still have the problem. I
don't have any problem with any other applications, thus I am using the same
computer to type this. Anyone that has had the same problem and a solution
can you help me out.

Hi Brian,

See if deleting all Word temp files through Start=Find
using the string
~$*.*;*.tmp
then starting Word helps.

If not, then repeat that step and hold down the ctrl
key while starting Word.

If it still is a problem you're graphics card driver
may be over acclerated or out of date (although a new
one may not be available yet from ATI).
