Is it possible to have the explainations and statistics from a grammer check
of German text appear in English? I am currently learning German, and am have
difficulty understanding some of the lengthy explantions of why Word wants to
make certain corrections.

No, it's not, unfortunately. However, I would honestly say (as a polylingual
PC support guy) that if you don't understand German well enough to understand
the explanations, they you are better off not using it. Grammar checking
tools are getting better and better but still can't detect certain mistakes
and make peculiar suggestions about others. You need a good understanding of
the language to make any effective use of such tools. You ought to buy a good
reference text instead - perhaps use it to look up what Word is flagging.
